Wolf Brother by:Michelle Paver Ch. 7-9 pg. 57-84

During these chapters Torak is taken to his captors autumn camp. He then figures out that he is to be killed for “taking” his captors roe buck. Torak obviously doesn’t want to be killed, so using the oldest law ever made he fights for hi life. Torak has to fight a boy named Osaka, who has obviously been trained and knows how to fight, whereas Torak has no idea what he is supposed to do. Torak sees his chance and while fighting throws broth into the fire nearby. This creates steam, which blinds his opponent, then Torak wins and gets to live. That is for now. Because Torak fought with air, and has a dog whistle they think he is the boy from the prophecy and that he must be killed to make the bear go away!

Wolf Brothe by Michelle paver, Ch. 3-4, pg 13-35

In these chapters Torak journeys farther through the woods. He has not eaten for days, and can barely see straight. He finally comes along a pack of dead wolves, all killed in a flash flood from the “big wet” that runs throughout the forest, all except for one small cub. Torak who has almost no energy left goes around setting traps and scouting for berries or nuts, whatever he can find that is edible. Torak uses the little strength he has left to chop a few saplings to make a shelter. Torak is about to settle down for the night when he notices a wolf cub that must have survived the flood. Toraks first thought was food, but didn’t have the heart to actually kill the wolf. Torak using his new found talent starts to communicate with the wolf. The wolf becomes Toraks new companion, and they then set off on Toraks journey again.
